The Jakarta Morning Observer is an embryo for the upcoming English newspaper in Jakarta published by Lippo Group under its media umbrella group : Globe Media. The Jakarta Morning Observer started to publish daily (Monday-Saturday) since November 2007 as a supplement for Suara Pembaruan and Investor Daily.

A reliable source says recently that this supplement has been affecting the class readership of Suara Pembaruan. He quotes Nielsen media research, there has been a significant growth in “A” class readers. Some subscribers complained when they didn’t receive the supplement. Meantime, with its great attraction, some agents sell the supplement – that suppose to be free – separately.

The Jakarta Morning Observer mostly covers economic and politic issues around the globe. It comprises of eight pages. Page one and two cover global headlines. The other pages cover issues from China (3), East Asia (4), ASEAN (5), Middle East (6), Europe (7) and USA (8). Weekend edition contains more featurized stories. Page one to three cover global headlines. The other pages are entertainment (4 and 5), Art (6), Science and Health (7) and Fashion (8).
